CAN THE PICO LASER TREAT ACNE SCARS AND WRINKLES?
The scars that acne leaves behind may be more frustrating than the acne that came before them. They are often stubborn and do not diminish with time. A Pico laser treatment has proven to reach deep within the dermis to smooth out acne scars for good, leaving behind clear, beautiful skin on every skin type. At least 3 sessions, 1 month apart, may need to be performed for optimal results. Three days of redness post procedure is common.
Patients of all skin types looking to improve the texture of their skin are also great candidates for the Pico laser. The laser gently and painlessly delivers heat to the deeper layers of your skin which helps build collagen and smooth fine lines. This is a no downtime procedure.
Patients looking to soften deeper wrinkles are also good candidates for the Pico laser. A more aggressive setting can be used to deliver heat to the deeper layers of your skin while also causing mild ablation to the upper layers of the skin. Redness for 3 days is typical, but technically there is no downtime. Three sessions 1 month apart is ideal for optimal results.
CAN THE PICO LASER TREAT TATTOOS?
This is the only Pico laser on the market with 3 wavelengths that can effectively treat every color tattoo. Treatments should be performed 6-8 weeks apart, to allow your body to clear the targeted tattoo particles. Depending on the size of the tattoo and number of colors, at least 6 sessions will be required to remove your tattoo. Topical numbing is sufficient to minimize any associated discomfort during the procedure. No downtime is needed.
CAN THE PICO LASER TREAT SUN SPOTS AND MELASMA?
The Pico laser is the most effective laser to treat brown spots or sun damage on the skin. The laser fires in a trillionth of a second using photoacoustic energy (as opposed to photothermal heat with traditional lasers) to shatter pigment in its path. This is a painless, no downtime procedure. The brown spots will darken initially and then slough off within 1-2 weeks revealing clearer skin. Three sessions 1 month apart is ideal to obtain optimal results.
The Pico laser is also the gold standard laser procedure for improving melasma. This is also a painless procedure with no downtime. The laser targets pigment deep in the skin which signals your immune response to clear out the unwanted pigment. Three sessions one month apart is the typical treatment course. Establishing a good medical grade skin care regimen with Drs. Herschthal will also be part of the treatment plan.
