Why TR3+ Is The Best Approach to Skin Treatment

woman clear skin hair up

What is The TR3+ Approach?

At The Herschthal Practice, we firmly believe in a more holistic approach to cosmetic dermatology. That is why we cultivated our TR3+ approach because we know that superior results come from addressing more than just the most glaringly obvious issues. TR3+ encompasses almost everything that we do at The Herschthal Practice.

The Basics of TR3+

TR3+ can be broken down into 4 (+1) distinct steps that we believe are a comprehensive way to treat many common skin complaints and issues that pop up over time as we age.

1 – Tighten

The very first step is to tighten the skin. We offer a choice of Ultherapy, Kybella, NovaThreads, and SculpSure because they are FDA approved and have achieved positive results for many people. Kybella is notable for being the first and only FDA approved injectable that is capable of destroying the fat cells that are responsible for creating a double-chin. Because your jawline is a critical part of what shapes your features, treatment with Kybella is extremely effective at providing dramatic results!

2 – Revolumize

When it comes to filling out the face and revolumizing it, dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, and Belotero can get the job better than anything else. A natural part of the aging process is that we lose fullness in parts of the skin due to the deterioration of how we carry fat, our bone and muscle density.

Tightening the skin isn’t enough, we also need to make it fuller in the right places so that any tautness which is achieved can have something to accentuate.

For more information on injectables, check out our blog overview!

3 – Relax

In general, most people associate aging with a kind of gradual sagging, a relaxation of the skin. When we say relax, this is not what we refer to. It is more like a highly selective process of choosing which muscles under the skin, in particular, to relax or immobilize so that they refrain from creating wrinkles or pulling the skin in undesirable ways. In other words, the goal is to tighten the skin but relax certain key muscles to create balance.

Popular injectables such as Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport do exactly this.

4 – Resurface

The resurfacing step refers to using lasers, chemical peels, and microneedling/microdermabrasion techniques to treat the outer layer of your skin which undoubtedly takes the most beating. Sun exposure, not enough moisturizing, physical factors such as wrinkling and just plain old aging can do a number to your epidermis.

Plasma Pen treatments and Vivace Microneedling are things that can be used to dramatically alter and improve the surface of your skin by reducing wrinkles and removing blemishes as well as stimulate the production of collagen.

Plus – Skincare

The + in TR3+ refers to a dedicated and informed skincare regimen. No matter what technique or treatment you undergo, a good skin routine is something that will help sustain the results of any procedure you choose to receive. If you’ve never visited our practice before, we often consult with our patients about adopting a skincare routine that is customized and particular to our patient’s needs. We want all of our customers to get the best results out of our procedures by continuing to take care of their skin before they come in and after they leave.

This can be achieved through using highly particular products such as topical medications, mineral-free and chemical-free sunblocks, as well as any other cosmetic supplies that can work around the unique needs of your skin.

Exude Vitality With The Vi Peel!

model frontal clear skin

What is The Vi Peel?

The Vi Peel is a medical-grade chemical peel that can be used to treat hyperpigmentation, acne and scarring related to acne, sun spots, age-related blemishes, wrinkles, and much more!

How Does The Vi Peel Differ From Other Chemical Peels?

When it comes to aesthetic dermatology, the choices between the many different treatments can leave people feeling dizzied at the options. Much like how there is the right tool for each job, there is the right peel for all skin types. The wonderful thing about the Vi Peel is that it IS the right peel for many skin types. The Vi Peel is actually a set of peels, and what results you are seeking will determine which peel is right for you.

The Standard Vi Peel

The standard Vi Peel is great for those who wish to reduce wrinkles and soften up any hard lines they have. If that’s all the Vi Peel did then it wouldn’t be as acclaimed as it is! The great thing about this treatment is that it can penetrate deeper than most chemical peels can and it does so relatively painlessly. One of the major benefits to this is that the Vi Peel can help restore balance to your skin by evening out your skin tone and reducing the roughness of texture by productively peeling away layers of skin.

The Precision Plus Vi Peel

The Precision Plus Vi Peel is a peel that accomplishes the basic function of peeling away dull and dead layers of skin to create a more fresh-faced look while specializing in addressing hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation is when patches of skin become darker than the rest, this has been a notoriously difficult skin condition to treat in the past. One of the major boons of the Vi Peel treatment is that it CAN and does provide results for those suffering from hyperpigmentation.

Additionally, this peel is excellent at dealing with those pesky age-spots that can appear over time.

How Many Vi Peel Treatments Are Necessary?

The number of treatments will solely depend on the results the patient is looking for as well as the severity of the conditions they are trying to treat. It is difficult to estimate how many treatments are necessary without first being able to see the patient first. We highly recommend you contact us by phone or click the yellow button in the top right to book an appointment online!

One thing is certain though, you will see results within the first treatment. Many people come to our practice with skin issues that have plagued them their entire lives, they have a certain skepticism when it comes to whether something will work or not.

Treatments like the Vi Peel and the Precision Plus Peel are so effective that follow up treatments are something we seldom have to suggest—though, they are something that our patients want! When you consult with The Herschthal Practice, you have our word that we will work with you to develop a customized treatment plan that requires only the minimum amount of sessions necessary from you.

How Long Does The Vi Peel Last?

The effects of the Vi Peel will last several months, but nobody is immune to the effect of time and lifestyle factors such as prolonged sun exposure and build-up of dead skin cells on the superficial layers of your skin. A refresh every couple of months is recommended for the optimal results. How often you should get the peel will be based on what skin conditions you are dealing with.

Zap Your Worries Away with Pico Laser Treatment

model sunshine clear skin

If you’ve been on this Earth for more than a handful of years, you have undoubtedly gathered a few spots or blemishes over the years that just won’t seem to go away on their own. This could be scars from acne that continually haunt you or a remnant from the time you got over-eager and popped a pimple too soon and too aggressively. Maybe it’s just simple wrinkling from the passage of time, whatever the case may be, The Discovery Pico Laser can treat those issues and many more with relative ease!

Discovery Pico Laser Series

Manufactured by an Italian company—Quanta System, that specializes in laser technology for surgery and aesthetic procedures, the Discovery Pico Laser boasts an impressive three true laser wavelengths. While there are many lasers capable of doing cosmetic work, in our experience, the Pico Laser does it that much better and with minimal discomfort. At The Herschthal Practice, we make it a point to always use cutting edge technology for the best results for our clients!

Pico Laser Treatment for Sun Spots or Melasma

Our practice is located in sunny Boca Raton, Florida! Going to the beach is a way of life in South Florida. No matter the season, you can find a busy beach on any day of the week down here because the weather almost always permits.

The side effect to this? Lots of sun exposure, of course!

Melasma and sun spots are the same thing, both worsened with sun exposure. They are fairly common and thankfully benign—meaning it’s not harmful, just a nuisance depending on who you ask. It most commonly appears on:

  • Forehead
  • Cheeks
  • Nose
  • Chin

In other words, the face is the most common area in which melasma appears but it certainly is not limited to that area.

Interestingly enough, it would appear that the vast majority of people who get melasma are women: about 90% if you ask the American Academy of Dermatology. The AAD also states that under a qualified dermatologist’s care, the majority of people with melasma have a good outcome from treatment protocols. The Pico Laser treatment is also the gold standard procedure for improving melasma. The Pico Laser is also excellent at removing stubborn brown spots.

Pico Laser Treatment for Acne

For much of the same reasons as the melasma treatment, the Pico Laser is incredible at delivering results when it comes to getting rid of acne scars. The reason for this is that the laser is able to penetrate deep into the layers of your skin and through building new collagen can improve those persistent acne scars. For the best results, we recommend at least 3 sessions that are 1 month apart.

Tattoo Removal Using Pico Laser Treatment

As with all choices in life that have very permanent consequences, there’s always a huge potential for regret. Tattoos are fairly well represented in that domain, it’s almost a cliché to hear a story about someone who got a tattoo they regretted. Things that may seem great in the moment may not hold the same currency with you in 5-10 years…or the next day for that matter. Thankfully, the choice is not so permanent in 2019.

The Pico Laser can effectively work at removing tattoos. Due to the fact that this laser has 3 wavelengths, it can treat tattoos of every color! Treatments should be spaced out by about 6-8 weeks per session, this allows the body time to cycle out the targeted pigment. It will take a minimal of 6 sessions to truly remove the tattoo.

Pico Laser Treatment in Boca Raton

Take your pick out of the list of commonly suffered skin blemishes and chances are the Pico Laser can tackle them with no issue!

As with any multi-session procedure, the cost of treatment will vary based on how many sessions are needed to deliver the results you’re satisfied with. Minor issues only need one or two sessions to deal with while more difficult things—such as tattoo removal will require several.

Contact us today at 561-342-5972 to set up a consultation today! From there Dr. Herschthal (Jordana or David) can work out a plan that will achieve your aesthetic goals on a schedule that works for you.

CoolPeel: A No Downtime Skin Solution

woman smiling smooth skin

Laser treatments are as popular as ever these days as ways to treat skin issues that inevitably arise. Whether you’re suffering from blemishes such as acne, age spots, or just good old-fashioned wrinkles, CO2 laser treatments such as CoolPeel are phenomenal at getting rid of these spots so you can enjoy clear, youthful skin once more.

What is CoolPeel Treatment?

CoolPeel is a relatively new way to get clearer, healthier skin. The treatment uses a CO2 laser to provide deep penetration into the layers of your skin. CO2 lasers have been around for some time, but medical and technological advancements have made it much more effective for people of all skin types while minimizing the discomfort experienced.

What you’re essentially doing with CoolPeel treatment and fractional resurfacing in general, is lasering off the superficial layers of skin in the target area and building new collagen in the deeper layers of your skin. This is why some discomfort and redness are often experienced because the body will have a normal recovery response to the damaged skin.

Are CO2 Lasers Safe?

While there are procedures that require less downtime by penetrating into the layers of skin without using so much intensity, as you can imagine, the results will not be as drastic. These procedures are perfect for minor issues and blemishes that need correcting, but if you’re looking for highly noticeable results, CoolPeel and fractional CO2 laser treatment may be one of the best ways to achieve this goal.

According to this article by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, it really does make a huge difference who performs your laser treatments. The reason for this is simple: laser treatments are highly effective and perfectly safe IF your provider is skilled at using them. A CO2 laser is a powerful tool, and in the right hands it can be used effectively.

At The Herschthal Practice, we do everything in our power to make sure our clients feel safe and well looked after in our hands, that includes regularly keeping up to date with new aesthetic dermatology techniques and safety protocols to make the most out of these wonderfully effective procedures!

Is CoolPeel Treatment Right for Me?

CoolPeel Treatments can minimize damage from sun exposure, reduce wrinkling, age spots, and other such blemishes. The laser will penetrate deep into your skin to deliver heat energy which will not only remove the surface layers of skin that pose a problem, but also within, stimulate collagen production so that the existing structures are much more elastic and firmer.

CO2 lasers are known to be highly effective at what they do, but what makes CoolPeel so special as compared to other treatments such as fractional resurfacing?

Well, while those treatments are in fact potent, the main issue is that many of them have lengthy downtimes for the patient due to the initial damage and redness that occurs from using such a high-power laser. CoolPeel does NOT have this downtime.

CoolPeel treatment can only be performed using the highly advanced SmartXide Tetra CO2 laser from DEKA. This laser is one of the most advanced CO2 lasers on the market currently and is the only laser authorized to be used for CoolPeel treatments.

The Tetra CO2 laser uses extremely quick, intermittent bursts of intense energy to get the ablative benefits from CO2 laser treatments without the “overcooking” effect that comes from other less advanced lasers that cannot adequately control their energy outputs to prevent heat from lingering.

How Long Does CoolPeel Treatment Take?

CoolPeel treatment can take anywhere from an impressive 5-15 minutes for a full face session. No anesthesia or numbing cream is required but is certainly available for those with sensitive skin and would like additional comfort.

After the treatment, you will experience a small amount of redness that is similar to sunburn for 1-2 days, but you should be able to return to your daily routine without issue. As with all facial peels and treatments, it may be best to avoid certain skincare products to avoid irritating the area for the time being.

CoolPeel Treatment in Boca Raton

The Herschthal Practice is one of few providers in the area that possess a Tetra CO2 laser capable of performing CoolPeel treatments! Contact us today at 561-342-5972 to book a consultation appointment so that you can be assessed for CoolPeel treatment! From start to finish, our professional staff will give you all the details about the procedure and what sort of recovery protocol you should use afterwards to ensure that you walk away from the treatment with the best results possible!

5 Reasons To Get Vivace Microneedling

beauty model clear skin

You get older.

I don’t care how many situps you’ve been doing, if you’ve been eating your veggies, or if you slept 8 hours every night (do all of these things). These things DO help, still…

You get older. Skin starts to sag, wrinkles develop, mother nature is a cruel mistress and sometimes we get marks prematurely through things like acne scars.

Thankfully, it’s 2019 and you have an arsenal of different procedures that can be done at your convenience by an experienced aesthetic dermatologist. Vivace Microneedling treatment is one of the best options to deal with the common skin issues that arise with aging.

1 – It is Minimally Invasive

Microneedling is a treatment that has gained a great deal of popularity over the past decade. One of the reasons for this popularity is that it doesn’t require you to go under the knife. Instead, a device that has very tiny pins will create microscopic punctures in your skin that will confer beauty benefits. One of the chief benefits of a procedure that is minimally invasive is that it is perfect for those with a low pain threshold. The fine needles enter and exit the skin with virtually no tearing and prior to this even occurring, a numbing cream will be applied to your face to minimize any discomfort.

2 – Microneedling Works Quickly

After receiving your first treatment you will notice benefits. As the weeks go on, you will notice a gradual improvement in the firmness and complexion of your skin. The best results can be seen by about 4-6 months post-treatment as this will give time to reap the full benefits of the procedure.

3 – It Uses RF Technology to Further Enhance Microneedling Benefits

While microneedling alone provides benefits, it has been well documented that when this is coupled with RF (radio frequency) technology, the benefits are further increased as these two processes work synergistically. Vivace is a fractional microneedling radiofrequency treatment that assists in tightening the skin and minimizing the appearance of wrinkles while also creating a more toned aesthetic due it also reducing the size of your pores.

4 – Microneedling Can Reduce Scars and Stretch Marks

Like with the reduction in wrinkles and pore size, it can also be a useful treatment for acne scars and stretch marks. The portion of skin that has stretch marks can be improved through the stimulation of collagen production. Stretch marks occur when the skin is stretched too fast, too much, or both of those. This ends up disrupting the collagen production in that area and as a result, you see stretch marks as a type of scarring.

5 – There is No Downtime After Treatment

This is for some, the best part of getting a microneedling treatment. Not only will you see short term results that you will be pleased with, but the outlook 6 months out will show you the full power of this treatment in its ability to stimulate your body’s natural collagen production.

After getting treatment, you may return to your normal routine without any inconvenience save for our recommendation that you apply some sunscreen to your treated areas if you intend to go out into the sunlight. As professionals at The Herschthal Practice, after treatment, we will also recommend to you a recovery protocol so that you walk away with the best results.

Body Contouring Using WarmSculpting

flat stomach girl

What is WarmSculpting and How Does it Work?

WarmSculpting (formerly known as SculpSure) is a non-invasive FDA approved procedure that lets you contour your body to a more flattering aesthetic. This works by using a laser to target fat cells underneath the skin without affecting the upper layer. In other words, the energy penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin and eliminates fat cells. After these fat cells are worked on in a session, it will take approximately 12 weeks for your body to push those cells out of your system.

WarmSculpting is Best Supported With Diet and Exercise

Non-invasive lipolysis is an increasingly popular method at spot reducing body fat and contouring the body to a more pleasing image. However, it should be noted that it is not a primary way to lose bodyweight/fat and that is best done with exercise and dieting.

You Can’t Fully Control Your Fat Stores

Every year, come October or November in North America, a shift in gears sweeps the nation. We’ve worked hard all year, and while we will continue to work hard through the holidays pursuing our goals and aspirations, handling our responsibilities, it is no doubt the time of year to celebrate. Regardless of religious or cultural practices, we tend to do our best at putting on weight and indulging ourselves in merriment towards the end of the year.

This leads to many New Year’s Resolutions being aimed at weight loss. While many people do in fact succeed with that, an unfortunate situation becomes apparent. A person worked hard, weight loss occurred, they feel better and have more energy.

One problem.

They still don’t look the way they want to. And THAT is where a process like WarmSculpting is invaluable. You see, while everyone can get healthy and fit, the path to a completely lean stomach varies from person to person. Everyone has a different fat distribution on their body, and unfortunately, some people just tend to store disproportionately more of it on the trunk as opposed to their arms or legs.

Why is this a problem?

There comes a point where dieting down is difficult and unhealthy. What one person looks like at 12-15% body is not the same as another. Some people are simply leaner in the trunk at a higher body fat percentage than others. That means that if you are someone who stores a lot of body fat naturally in your midsection, your quest to diet down to a completely flat stomach may leave you feeling less than optimal all the time.

With WarmSculpting, you can even out this aesthetic disadvantage by spot reducing that area while still maintaining a healthy relationship with food.

What Can I Expect from My WarmSculpting Session?

When you come into The Herschthal Practice, you can rest assured you will be taken care of by some of the finest that aesthetic dermatology has to offer. Our staff is adept at making you feel comfortable and relaxed come the time of your appointment.

After answering any last-minute questions you may have about the procedure, you’ll be sat down in a cozy seat and the spots you’d like to be reduced will be marked. Then, an applicator belt that holds the device will be attached to you and will intermittently send out pulses of laser energy to the areas that are to be reduced. In between pulses, the belt cools your skin to keep you feeling comfortable. While you might think a tremendous amount of heat is necessary to melt fat cells, this is not the case. The vast majority of patients feel no discomfort save for a slight tingling sensation and warmth.

Overall, this procedure takes no more than 25-30 minutes to complete. Because it is non-invasive, you could easily take a lunch break, melt some fat, and be on your way back to work with none the wiser! As mentioned before, it will take up to 12 weeks for your body to metabolize the fat cells that were eliminated.

Herschthal Practice Now Offering Plasma Pen Treatment!

clear skin model

What is the Plasma Pen?

One of the latest and greatest things that technology has to offer aesthetic dermatology is the Subnovii Plasma Pen! A plasma pen is a handheld tool that can mitigate wrinkling, collagen loss, and the subsequent skin sagging that occurs after this loss of collagen. It is a non-invasive method of treating all of those aforementioned issues and it is also FDA approved. The handheld device is a convenient way to administer fibroblast therapy, which is a technique that stimulates collagen production in the skin.

What is Fibroblast Treatment?

Using the plasma pen, phenomenal lifting, tightening, and rejuvenating effects can be imparted onto the skin. The plasma pen works by imparting heat into tiny columns in the skin. The surface is subject to microtrauma and heat is conducted through those columns deeper into the skin which stimulates collagen production through heat. The upper dermal layer of the skin receives very minor damage as a result, but once it heals, the end result is firmer, more youthful-looking skin.

You can tell a plasma pen is being used by the iconic tiny little black dots that will line the treatment area.

What Are Some Issues The Plasma Pen Can Treat?

The Plasma Pen can help with a variety of common spots where the skin becomes wrinkled or saggy. Some such problems are:

  • Post acne scars
  • Crow’s feet around the edges of the eyes
  • Smile Lines as well as “marionette” lines—which are the lines that run down the corners of your mouth towards your chin
  • Lower and upper eyelids.
  • Various lines across the forehead

Cost of Plasma Pen vs Laser Treatment

Laser treatments are typically more involved in terms of downtime and more expensive than a plasma pen treatment. While they can be highly effective in certain scenarios, the overall effectiveness, and versatility of Plasma Pen treatment can be a fantastic alternative to procedures such as laser skin resurfacing.

In contrast, the Plasma Pen is more affordable—especially considering how many choices you have in terms of the area of treatment. You could choose to do forehead lines today and several months down the line opt to do another area. It can be split up quite easily.

Is There Downtime With Plasma Pen Treatment?

This one is tricky.

In terms of true downtime such as after surgery where you must rest and recover, there is no downtime. However, the plasma pen does leave some obvious signs of a procedure being done, such as the tell-tale small black dots that will require some time to go away.

You will most likely experience redness, swelling as well as scabbing in the area the treatment was performed. It will take anywhere from a week or a week and a half to “recover”. By all accounts, swelling should go down after 3-4 days at most. As with all healing times, those are just general guidelines and depending on your personal regenerative abilities, it will vary.

South FL Plasma Pen Treatment

The Herschthal Practice prides itself on offering cutting edge aesthetic dermatology treatments. So it should come as no surprise that we are now part of a small handful of providers of Subnovii Plasma Pen treatments. There are many Plasma Pens on the market, but not all achieve the same quality of results. You can rest assured that we use the best technology available and that is always evident in our results!

Get Your Face Contoured Using Ultherapy!

model good face shape

It’s Impossible to Keep Skin Pristine

It doesn’t matter who you are, life is tough in various ways. From family to careers, to goals, and much more, the skin will accumulate damage and lose elasticity over the years. The skin, as you may know, is the largest organ in (or on) the human body. The dermis is the middle layer of your skin that props up the epidermis—which is the outermost layer of skin. Collagen is a type of protein that gives the skin its elasticity. Much of the collagen in your skin is located in the dermis.

Much of the changes associated with aging happen, unsurprisingly, in the dermis. Our skin becomes thinner as we age and the cells that are tasked with producing collagen and elastin become increasingly defunct. This results in skin that is deteriorating and unable to maintain or repair itself over time. The organization of proteins in the skin is also changed, thus altering the texture of the skin.

What is Ultherapy?

Have you heard of Ultherapy? It’s an incredible procedure that is FDA approved to lift and tighten skin on the face, neck, and chest. For patients who do not wish to go under the knife or receive a facelift, Ultherapy is a perfect choice. Ultherapy non-surgical facial contouring works by using the power of ultrasound technology. Ultrasound waves penetrate the skin into the dermal layer to stimulate the production of collagen without damaging the surrounding tissues, this is arguably the most important benefit of using ultrasound. While ultrasound waves do not confer benefit as quickly as going under the knife, it is a far less harsh procedure that is capable of penetrating deeper into the treatment area without requiring invasive means.

How Is Ultherapy Different From Laser Treatment?

Laser treatment certainly has its own benefits, but the most common consensus would be that laser treatments are effective at handling the surface area of the skin—so treatments such as the laser skin resurfacing procedure we offer is a prime example of this technology used appropriately.

Facial Contouring Using Ultherapy

Facial contouring is best achieved using Ultherapy. By stimulating the production of collagen deeper into the skin, a tightening and lifting effect is achieved over time. The “trouble” areas that many people have are also very receptive to Ultherapy treatment. Areas such as the brow, which is notably very receptive to Ultherapy,  can be raised a couple of millimeters even. This creates a lengthening effect that will have a slight rollover effect on the eyes. The chin is another area that stands to benefit greatly from sessions.

How is Ultherapy Treatment Administered?

One of the greatest benefits of Ultherapy treatment is that unlike surgery, there is no downtime whatsoever. Many people report a slight tingle that can lead to some temporary discomfort or redness in the treated area. Other than that, however, you are free to do as you please before and after treatments. The Herschthal practice asserts that the initial Ultherapy treatment is sufficient at stimulating collagen production, and results can be observed within 30-90 days thereafter. Maintenance sessions are recommended every 2-5 years. The benefits over time for this treatment are fantastic.

South FL Ultherapy Treatment

Ultherapy is a great way to contour your face in certain areas you may be self-conscious about or would like to tighten up a bit. It’s non-invasive and FDA approved, so for those who are hesitant to have surgeries or invasive procedures performed on them, it’s the perfect treatment to allay those concerns. At the Herschthal practice, our highly trained staff are experts at alleviating any concerns and answering questions that our patients may have.

If you have any questions or concerns about a treatment or procedure, feel free to give us a call at (561)-517-9936 or contact us here!

Injectables: The Key to Anti-Aging

woman beauty great skin

Injectables are Commonplace Now

In today’s society, health and wellness has become an increasingly popular issue. From specialized diets and digital exercise routines to hi-tech laser treatments that help turn back the hands of time on your skin. But one practice has become especially popular in recent years, due to new and improved solutions that are becoming safer and widely embraced by consumers across the globe…injectables.

In the early days of cosmetic treatments, when injectables were first gaining popularity, there was a lot of uncertainty around the safety of the practice, and a lot of doctors were not familiar enough with proper techniques which often made the practice noticeable in clients who received them, and the result was not always a natural or subtle look.

Today, thanks to the widespread popularity of injectables, consumers in virtually every age bracket and in both sexes are eagerly incorporating various forms of injectables into their regimens due to their natural-looking results and abilities to improve overall aesthetics of various areas of the body.

Injectables are used to relax facial wrinkles and folds such as “smile lines”, contour the body such as reducing the appearance of a “double chin” and improve the signs of facial fat loss by creating structure, framework, and volume to the face and lips. There are different types of injectable procedures that improve various areas of concern. Injectables can also be used on other parts of the body, such as the hands, earlobes, buttocks and virtually any other area that needs correcting.

Most Popular Injectables

Botox: an FDA-approved injectable to temporarily make moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines look better in adults.

Kybella: the only FDA-approved injectable treatment that destroys fat cells in the treatment area under the chin to improve your profile.

Juvéderm: Hyaluronic acid, or HA, is a natural substance in the body that delivers volume to the skin. Modified HA is the main ingredient behind Juvederm. Getting treated with Juvederm helps add volume to different areas of the face without surgery while also temporarily restoring the volume loss beneath the surface.

Restylane: Restylane smooths away facial wrinkles and folds, provides subtle lip enhancement, smooths the lines around the mouth, adds lift and volume to the cheeks, and helps reverse the signs of volume loss in the back of the hands.

Sculptra: an FDA-approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen — an underlying cause of facial aging — for results that can last more than two years.

Dysport A prescription injection proven to help smooth the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows without changing the look or movement of the rest of your face. Untreated muscles still work normally, so you can continue to express feelings naturally.

Radiesse: a wrinkle filler used to plump the skin. Immediately, this filler works to add volume under the skin and over time, the benefits continue by stimulating your body’s own natural collagen. The natural results have been shown to last a year or more in many patients, making the treatment results both immediate and long-lasting.

Xeomin: frown lines form when facial expressions are made and the muscle under the skin contracts. Over time, as your skin ages, these repeated expressions cause lasting frown lines. Neurotoxins, such as Xeomin, are prescription medications that block the release of chemicals that cause these muscle contractions so frown lines are softened.

Dermal fillers and injectables are among some of the most popular cosmetic treatments, offering near-instant results with no downtime and no surgery. The Herschthal Practice offers a number of proven dermal filler and injectable treatments to help men and women of all ages achieve their cosmetic goals. If you have questions about injectables, call into our offices to speak with a knowledgeable representative who can help you determine which injectable is right for you to help address any specific concerns you may have.

None of those options are truly customized for your skin in the way that SoMe is.

What is Platelet Rich Plasma?

Platelet Rich Plasma is also known as autologous conditioned plasma. PRP is a concentrate that consists of platelet-rich proteins that come from blood—plasma proteins. They are obtained by spinning the blood in a centrifuge so that the red blood cells are separated out and all that’s left is the PRP. PRP has been seeing greater interest and testing in a variety of medicinal arenas, most notably tissue repair and other orthopedic concerns.

Why is PRP Good For Your Skin?

Well, if PRP is a promising lead on tissue regeneration in orthopedics, the real question is why? PRP contains a wide variety of growth factors that your body uses to facilitate its own natural regenerative abilities. Manufacturing these and combining them with a compatible topical formulation has been proven to confer anti-aging benefits to the user. Don’t believe us? A randomized blind split-face study was done to test the potency of the product. One experiment consisted of just using the SoMe base as a skincare product—and while it did confer some benefits to the user, it was clear that the real results came from a combination of our proprietary base and the PRP. In other words, SoMe has shown to be a potent natural restorative product that reduces the degeneration of the skin by supplementing the collagen and elastin in the skin. As you may know, collagen and elastin production gradually decreases naturally with age.

How is SoMe Used?

Usage is simple! After having the product created using your own PRP, you simply include it in your daily skincare routine. SoMe is best used after cleansing the skin and before applying any sort of moisturizer or sealant. One of the many benefits of SoMe is that it is indiscriminately beneficial in terms of facial rejuvenation. Many people often have different products for different parts of their face. They may choose to wear a lotion for their face while also applying a particular product to deal with wrinkles on the forehead or next to the eyes. The skincare benefits of SoMe are not particular to one part of your face or another.

Can SoMe be Used With Makeup?

Absolutely! SoMe can be used with almost any makeup products. Additionally, we are happy to say that SoMe has also passed all industry-standard irritation tests performed by Aesthetics Biomedical. Still, you should always seek your physician’s counsel if you have a skin condition such as eczema. While it has shown no particular irritation in those with eczema, it is still important to keep your doctor in the loop.

Storing SoMe

Because SoMe is a product created with your very own blood plasma, making it one of the most customized skincare products available, it also means that ordinary room temperature storage will not suffice. To keep the maximum platelet viability, SoME must be refrigerated. The proprietary base that is mixed with the PRP is what allows the PRP to achieve a longer shelf life by preserving its potency for about 3 months.
