BOTOX

Botox/Dysport
Botox/Dysport is the most popular and commonly performed cosmetic procedure in the world, in the US and in my practice as well. Botox/Dysport safely and effectively gets rid of frown lines, crow's feet and horizontal forehead lines. It is also frequently used to produce a brow lift and it also gives the eyes a more wide open, alert and younger look. It works safely by relaxing specific overactive facial muscle groups.

The treatment, when performed by an experienced physician, results in a natural, relaxed, refreshed and younger look. The procedure is minimally uncomfortable, takes just a few minutes and lasts approximately 4 months. Botox/Dysport has been around many years and has a long established safety record. The results can be obvious within 24-48 hours, thus making it the #1 procedure with regards to patient satisfaction.

The results of Botox/Dysport are best complemented by other easily performed cosmetic procedures including volume restoration (fillers), skin rejuvenation/polishing (peels, microdermabrasion, DOT laser resurfacing) and face and neck skin tightening (Thermage)

FILLERS; LOCAL AND GLOBAL

Local fillers (Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm and Radiesse)
All the local fillers instantly replace lost volume in the specific areas they are used. The most common locations are the lips, naso-labial lines, marionette lines, deflated cheek and chin areas and acne or other depressed scar s. These fillers last approximately 6 months. All of these fillers contain anesthetic thus minimizing discomfort. A small percentage of patients bruise which can easily be concealed with make- up. The physician's choice of filler is customized depending on the patient's specific need. All these fillers have established track records and are therefore totally safe (they don't even require allergy testing) and provide a completely natural look.

Global filler (Sculptra)
If you have a great deal of facial volume loss and or volume loss in multiple facial areas your correction is best served by a much longer lasting global filler. The local fillers lasting 6 months would not be practical or economical. Most experts use the term liquid lifting for this type of global correction. In addition to comprehensive volume replacement, this filler (Sculptra Aesthetic) results in significant architectural restoration of the total shape of your face. Final results require a series of treatments approximately 1 month apart for 2 to 4 months depending on your volume loss.

The wait is well worth it as the final correction can last for several years. This is a high skilled procedure and should only be performed by a physician with a lot of filler experience. The filler contains anesthetic, thus minimizing any potential discomfort. Temporary bruising in a small percentage of patients can easily be concealed with minimal make-up The end result is completely natural in appearance as this filler works by stimulating your own depleted dermal components. Liquid lifting is a real a game changer and has proven to be a critical component in facial restoration. Patients love it.

PRESCRIPTION SKIN PEELS

The starting point in skin rejuvenation is the prescription skin peel. The peels that I use require a medical license and are not available in spas or malls. The prescription peel is customized to your individual skin's needs. The peel has both a medical and cosmetic benefit. Medically, the prescription peel removes sun damaged cells and even early pre-cancerous skin cells, thereby improving your skin's general health. Cosmetically, the prescription peel removes the skins top dead layers, cleans out, shrinks and minimizes pores, improves splotchy skin and skin tone, and gives the skin a uniform color and texture. In one word, it cosmetically POLISHES the skin. The combination of cosmetically polishing your skin (making it brighter, glow, radiant, more reflective of light) and medically repairing the sun's damage, is a significant step towards improving the quality, health, texture and appearance of your skin.

The prescription peel entails a peel every 2 to 4 weeks for a total of 6 peels, followed by a maintenance peel once every 3 months. The prescription peels are painless and have no down time. MICRODERMABRASION

Microdermabrasion is the starting point in a comprehensive skin rejuvenation program. Our physician practice uses clinical medical grade microdermabrasion devices unavailable to the spa industry. The intensity of the painless, no downtime procedure is customized to your individual skin's needs. The procedure mechanically removes the skin's top dead layers using a synthetic diamond bit that cycles at 5000 revolutions per minute. It cleans out, shrinks and minimizes pores, improves splotchy skin and skin tone, and gives the skin a uniform color and texture. It makes the skin brighter, glow, radiant and more reflective of light. In one word, it POLISHES your skin. It typically involves a series of 6 microdermabrasions done once every 2-4 weeks for a total of 6 treatments, with maintenance once every 3 months. There is no down time. In fact patients prefer to schedule this procedure immediately before a major event to immediately enhance their appearance. This procedure is not restricted to the face, in fact many patients choose to treat their necks, chest, arms and legs as well.

SCLEROTHERAPY

Sclerotherapy is still the gold standard, painless, safe and most effective method to get rid of unwanted spider veins and telangiectasias of the lower extremities. A physician carefully and painlessly injects a sclerosing solution directly into the unwanted varicose veins. As a result, the veins slowly dissolve over the next several weeks. There is no down time other than a bandage placed for 24 hrs. The procedure is repeated monthly until all the unwanted veins go away.

LIPOTHERAPY

Lipotherapy is an alternative non-surgical procedure used to get rid of stubborn, mild to moderate fat bulges that do not respond to targeted exercise. It is an alternative to surgical liposuction only when there are mild amounts of fat to be treated. A series of monthly injections can dissolve the protruding bulge. It is most commonly performed on the "love handles" and or buttocks. The fat dissolving injection contains an equal amount of phosphatidil choline and sodium deoxycholate. Although both medicines are individually FDA approved, they're use in lipotherapy is considered off label.

PERMANENT MAKE-UP

Why waste time putting on make up? Why not have permanent eyebrows, eyeliner and lipstick? In this procedure, the pigment is permanently placed in the designated anatomic area with painless (we use prescription strength topical and or local anesthetic) surgical precision in a sterile surgical environment.
